The Joliet Central Speech Team brought home a 2nd place finish at the Irish Invitational. Johnna Grimm and Jose Marquez took 4th place in DDA, Anthony Stockton took 3rd in DI, Jose Marquez was 4th in DI, Anthony Stockton and Johnna Grimm were tournament champions in HDA, and Mia Hromen and Alex Widlak brought home 4th place in the first HDA performance of the year. Central Speech also finished 4th in HI (Tammy Thompson), 6th place in OO (Aileen Hernandez), 3rd in INFO (Triston Smith), 4th in INFO (Mallory Arend), 3rd in Poetry (Diana Martinez), 3rd in Prose (Diana Martinez) and 2nd place in Radio (Zoey Denson). Up next for the Speech team is The Saturday Morning Smackdown tournament at Richards High School on January 11th.  Central Speech Team took 3rd Place overall at our first invitational at Morris Community High School. Diana Martinez was tournament champion in Poetry and 4th Place in Prose. Triston Smith was 3rd in Informative speaking, Coral Cortes was 4th in Original Oratory, Johnna Grimm and Jose Marquez were 3rd in Dramatic Duet Acting, Jose was also 6th in Dramatic Interpretation, and Tammy Thompson was 4th in Humorous Interpretation. Lexi Widlak and Mia Hromek were the top Novices in Dramatic Duet Acting.  ThE Speech season starts for the joliet central steelmen this saturday at morris community high school. The road back to state begins now. |
