The Drama Department at Joliet Central offers 3 levels of classes for students.
DRAMA 1
This is an entry level drama course where students learn basic improvisation, terminology, monologue performance, scene performance, theatre history, audition techniques, and character analysis. |
DRAMA 2
This course builds on the tools learned in Drama 1. It covers advanced improvisation and advanced scene study, as well as dialects, film techniques, blocking, and design. |
Advance Theatrical Studies
This advanced class offers
college-level course
study that includes
acting techniques, stage
make-up, stage combat,
directing 101, technical
theatre, and design analysis.
Any student can enroll in Drama 1, but Drama 2 and
Theatrical Studies require either completion of
Drama 1 or participation in one of the following: Fall Play,
Speech Team, Contest Play, or the Spring Musical.
